Windows 10 - Do I REALLY need it?

I'm running Windows 7 on Acer laptop. I don't do much other than email, facebook, Neopets (yes, I play Neopets! sue me), online shopping, itunes and general putzing. While it's free to download.... do I REALLY need it? I'm sure I'll get some conflicting answers (as I'm getting by word of mouth) but I'll just have to way the tide. I'm not seeing any benefit from a new system for my use. Keep in mind - I'm 1) old 2) have NO one to help me learn the new system 3) cry easy.

Why are you asking this in an Apple technical support community. I think it would be more productive and appropriate to ask your question in a Windows forum.

Bob, to answer your question: I asked here, because I truly don't know any better (refer to "1)" in my post). Now that you have so kindly enlightened me, I will indeed ask elsewhere - where I'm sure my question will be more appropriate and surely more productive. Thanks for your response! _kat

Unless you're actively taking stops to prevent it, you may not have much choice in getting the upgrade to Win 10. If you do get the upgrade, you'll need to pay close attention to privacy issues if that is of concern to you.
