How can I record audio from an output?

Hi everyone,

I am using an AU instrument with crazy lfos that are cycling around and changing the effect of the instrument. I want to record this so it's guaranteed to sound a certain way (and not be constantly changing with each play), I've been trying to bounce it soloed, but that's not really working as well as I would like it to.

I am wondering, is there any way that I can output this AU instrument to something other than 1-2 and then set an audio track to input that output-- so I can play the song, and record on that audio track and it will capture only that instrument?

Hey!

If you have a digital in s and outs like S/PDIF or ADAT on your interface, I would do this! I have my S/PDIF output routed to its input. My S/PDIF output is 11-12 so output the audio Inst to 11-12 and create a input object my S/PDIF inputs land on 17-18.
It might just end up doing the same thing for you but try it, at least it's another option.

Let me know!
