I understand you have some epubs that you would like to sync or copy from your Mac to your iPad. The first thing I would suggest is to check the capacity of your iPad and confirm you have room for them.
Next, I would suggest you update your iOS from the 8.4.1 that appears on your profile above to iOS 9.2.1 which is the current. This affects the way iBooks are managed.
Have you tried emailing the epub files to yourself and opening them with the iBooks app on your iPad?
Another way to share files is with the new AirDrop feature.
One or all of these avenues may help you get your content on both devices.
I'll include some resources with additional information below for you:
Check your storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Use AirDrop to send content from your Mac
Sync iBooks between your Mac and your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Use iBooks with PDF documents on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Take care,
