Windows 10 not opening .jpg created on mac

I created a 1 page document in Pages 5 with 8 photographs, and decided not to export as PDF as images are a bit soft even at large file size.

Instead, I screen-grabbed as a PNG and then converted to JPG using Pixelmator.

Looks great on a mac but none of my Windows 10 using journalists can open it. Any clues as to what in my workflow has caused a problem with a simple .jpg file?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), 2.7 Core i5, 12GB Ram

Try sending them the png file. If they can open the png file then you know the problem occurs within the Pixelmator conversion.

Note that you can save the screenshot .png file in .jpg format using Preview too.
