Q: How to remove headers and footer fields in Numbers?

The design of the document i made in numbers, has some graphics in the foot of the page and Iwant it to show at the border of the page when i print it.

My problem is that the header and footer fields cuts the image and it's imposible to print the complete images of the invoice design.

How can I remove those fields?

Can you bring me some other solution?

Thank you!

    Hello there, alogarol.

It sounds like you are wanting to edit/remove content form headers and footers on a Numbers Spreadsheet. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great information on that topic:

Numbers for Mac: Using headers and footers for printing

Numbers for Mac 3.2 and later includes options for headers and footers when printing your spreadsheets.

If you would like to include headers and footers when you print your Numbers spreadsheets in Numbers 3.2 and later, you can do this by editing them on the Print Setup screen.

    1. Choose Print from the File menu.
    2. You should see a preview of how the sheet will look when you print it.
    3. To edit the headers for the sheet, click the top of any page and add the information you would like there. To edit the footers, click the bottom of any page and add the information there.

You can use the Zoom menu to make it easier to edit header and footer content.

By default, page numbers are included in the center of the footer section. If you want to remove the page numbers, you can select one in the preview and delete it. Changes that you make to the header or footer of one page affect all pages for the sheet. However, the header and footer is separate for each sheet in your spreadsheet.

Changes you make to your headers and footers are saved as part of the spreadsheet. If you want to exit the Print Setup screen without printing, click Done in the inspecto

Thanks a lot, but I still could not solve my problem.

But I don't want to remove the contents of the footer. What I want is to eliminate the field assigned to that function because a white band overlays on the background color of the design in the page.

I've been looking for help in this forum and I have seen this same problem: Jeuker (June 29, 2014 9:02 PM in response to yellowbox)
and I think it's impossible to fix.

I hope you can give me another solution.
    Thank you very much.

    Hi Alogarol,

Jeuker (June 29, 2014 9:02 PM in response to yellowbox)

I think you are referring to this thread:

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4967405

The closest I can get to make an object fill the whole page from top to bottom is this (in Menu > File > Print... to see Print Preview)

    Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 10.04.30 PM.png

BTW, the headers and Footers are visible only because I hovered the cursor over Print Preview.

    Settings in Print Setup

    Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 10.04.17 PM.png

    Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 10.08.42 PM.png

And 1 point text in all three sections of the Page Header and Page Footer. (But they don't shrink .)

I can drag the object (not in Print Preview, but normal view) to the top of the page to obscure the Page Header (which is blank). But I can't get the object to cover the Page Footer. Excess spills onto Page 2.

I can't find a way to delete the Header and Footer fields.

    Regards,

    Ian.

I tried the same method in Numbers '09. Here is Print Preview, and it fills less of the page!

    Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 10.34.42 PM.png

This is under OSX El Capitan 10.11.1

A vague memory tells me that in Pages '09 under older versions of OSX we could hide the Header and Footer fields. Perhaps this is a casualty of Numbers '09 now being "orphanware" and is slowly losing features under newer OSX versions.

    Regards,

    Ian.

    Thaks a lot, Yellowbox!

    That's the problem!

    And now...

    ¿How can I get numbers 09?

    I've got a new iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), Numbers 3.6.1

    Thanks again.

    Olga

    Hi Olga,

I do not think that Numbers '09 will help you. My first reply was made with Numbers 3.6.1 and El Capitan. My second reply was made with Numbers'09 and El Capitan. Neither allows us to hide the Headers and Footers.

Your English is better than my Spanish! Google Translate .

    Regards,

    Ian.

P.S. did you know about this Spanish forum? https://communities.apple.com/es/welcome

I do not know if it has any Numbers questions. Ian.

    Hola Olga,

Traductor Google .

    Saludos,

    Ian.

    Hi, Ian.

I'll look in the Spanish forum too.

Thank you, thank you, thank you...
