Calendar no sound

Hello apple support community,

I am having a minor issue with the calendar on my iPhone that i cant seem to figur out for myself.

I have set up some events on my calendar to ensure i remember them. In the mentioned events, i have specified that it should warn me by using the defined sound in sound settings. But when the event finally occurs, there are no sound.

I have my IPhone on silent by standard. Is that the reason it wont make a sound? if it is, are there any way around this issue?

I want to remain having my phone on silent mode, except that i want it to alarm me whenever a specific meeting is coming up.

With my old phone who ran on the android OS. You could have the phone in constant silent mode, but it would still alarm you of events by playing a sound

.I would like to copy this function on my iPhone if possible.
