Q: Is there any chance of measuring a healing wound by using photos in iPhone 6 S

I am a doctor treating diabetes with wounds exclusively. As the patient wound cure I have to mark the outline on skin with markers which makes the whole process a gaudy. So if can employ weekly photos of the wound to gauge the curing rate it will be wonderful. I am owning a iphone 6S and want to if there is any apps.which may allow the ' Photos' to do what I want.

THanks

Place a gauge or other measuring device next to/near the wound before taking the picture.

Search the AppStore for your location to see if anything exists that will fill your needs.

Needless to say with the nuances around wound edges and granulation tissue - in addition to measuring the wound itself - you need to make sure you are photographing from the same angle - difficult sometimes in patients with deuce ulcers -

There is also the question of HIPAA and privacy - as you know - you need to have the appropriate permissions and make sure that the photos are then uploaded somewhere secure - preferably to the patient record

An excellent idea I never thought of.Put the gauge in the same anatomical position as in the first one  and take  next picture. You have solved my problem.Yet as you say an app will be better.

    thanks a lot ,
