How to manage multiple time zone events like international flight

We are going on a nice long vacation later this year and will be traveling from Oregon to Chicago to NYC, London, several other countries and back again. In other words lots of different events with some events starting in one time zone and ending in another.

I have read a lot of posts but am still confused. Some people talk about "time support" on the ios but that is not there or at least I cannot find it. It is on the OS X calendar settings.

I usually use my Mac desktop to input schedule and then use my iphone or ipad to view it.

I wonder if someone could help me with an example. I live in Oregon PST... my flight starts in NYC at 8AM (ET) and lands in London at 8pm (GMT) the same day.

How would I set this up on my calendar?

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)
