Q: iTunes Error 4005 (Iphone 5)

Hello,

I know there are already some threads about it....so yeah, it's a IPhone 5 with 8.1 and not IPhone 4 with 7.0.2...

I tried to restore my iPhone, after updating to a new version. (Never do that in my life!)

After 2 minutes of restoring, my Apple boot logo gets a little bit darker.

When I restore,  iTunes is stuck at "Waiting for iPhone" and the restore is being canceled with the Error 4005.

I read in several websites, that you can remove some parts that are causing this issue. Like f.e. the display. I tried removing the display (and only the display) and it didn't work.

Is there any specific part broken? Or is this some abstract Error out of nowhere? (oh, it's iTunes)

Has this something to do with the proximity sensor?

What is this error about?

Any help would be much appreciated.

And please, don"t refer to any website, I searched all over the web, it doesn't help.

I didn't jailbreak it btw.

iPhone 5, iOS 8.1, Last Version, before I updated.

This support document would provide all of the recommended steps for error 4005.If you see error 9, 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your iOS device - Apple Support   However, if you opened the device on your own and make the modifications you described, then Apple will no longer service the device. You would have to find a competent 3rd party repair facility to see about repairing your device.

My warranty expired 7 months ago, and it's not directly a Modifikation, i just removed the display while restoring.

I'm a little disappointed, that my iPhone broke, just by updating to the lastest iOS.

I would just like to know if my whole IPhone broke, or just some parts.

    Oh well.

Opening the case of the phone would cause apple to deny any repair to the device.  IE:  they will no longer perform an out of warranty repair on the device.  Sorry.

As @ChrisJ4203 stated, I am aware of that.

But I am more willing to repair it myself, if I would just know [What] part is broken. It can't be that my whole iPhone is broken.

EDIT: The support article above didn't solve the problem a bit.

Nobody here in this user to user technical forum would know what part(s) is broken on your phone.

No telling, but just because your iPhone warranty expired, does not mean you could not get service from Apple. However, once you opened it, you voided any post-warranty support. Besides that, the iPhone is not considered a user serviceable device, and Apple does not sell parts. You are on your own, and would need to find a competent 3rd party repair to try and diagnose your problem.
