Unable to safely eject iPod Touch from Windows PC

I can't find the option to safely eject my iPod Touch 6G from a Windows PC.

There's no icon to do so in the taskbar, and it's also absent in My Computer. There is however, the acknowledgment of it being connected under Portable Devices. If I right click, no option to eject though.

Inevitably I will have to unplug it. Is it safe to do so? Does it even matter if there is no safe ejection icon? I've had to eject it a few times before without properly ejecting it for reasons seperate to this one. Will it be okay? Is it just the files that can be corrupted but not the actual drive (physically or otherwise) itself? Meaning if in the worse case scenario, a new sync will solve all issues?

Thanks,

Jesse
