Q: How to switch Mac computers but keep using Final Cut Pro X

Hi -

I have Final Cut Pro X installed on my old MacBook Pro and want to switch the use/licence (or whatever the right term is) to use it on my newer macbook air. How do I go about reinstalling? I am prepared to delete it off my macbook pro if I have to, to make use of the program on another device but would rather not.

Thanks in advance

TThere is no right term. You can have the software installed on any machines you own and control. Simply copy it from one machine to the other.

    Thanks very much Tom.

When you say "copy it" - how do I actually do that?

Guessing if I go to install it on my new device through the final cut website it will charge me again and wont register that I already have purchased it before.

So it seems there is no limit to the number of your own devices you can install the program on, is that right?

    Many thanks

CCopy it to a jump drive on one machine and copy it from the drive to the other machine

IF you sign into the App Store with the same Apple ID used to purchase it you can download the application again if you want.

TTheres no technical limit. The limitation is the license restriction of own and control.
