Q: I bought a second hand Iphone 5 (late 2015) and the apple ID is locked with the previous owners. It doesn't allow me to change the email to mine at all, the box isn't even clickable. How do I change it to my apple ID?

So I bought a second hand Iphone 5 and it worked fine for the first day, and now that I'm trying to update the apps and software, it isn't letting me because i don't know his old password and i can't change his email out of the box?

Please help !

You need to contact the seller and ask him to remove this iPhone from his list of devices. Otherwise, your iPhone will be a useless brick.
