Q: Recent items won't stop listing
I've turned off recent items (it shows as "none") on system preferences but my Macbook Air won't stop listing recent items when I click on the Apple logo top left corner. How can I make it stop listing recent documents and apps?
MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Mac OS X
When you have set Recent Items to "none" (in SystemPreferences->General) the "Recent Items" menupoint in the Apple Menu should not even be there !
This might be related:
do a Spotlight re index: Spotlight: How to re-index folders or volumes - Apple Support
do a Relaunch Finder: Apple Menu->ForceQuit-> select Finder and Relaunch Finder.
restart the mac.
