How do I save the default email? It keeps kicking me back to Google Chrome

What are you referring to by "default email"? What is your email client? Which email service are you using? By Google Chrome are you referring to their web browser?
If you are using Mac Mail as your email client, you would set the default email as follows:
- Open Mail.
- From the Mail menu, choose Preferences.
- Click on the General button.
- Choose your desired default email application from the "Default email reader" pop-up menu.
