No - ICPS is not a feature of Aperture or iPhoto - it is new with Photos

It used to work for a short time in Yosemite.  I could enable iCloud Photo Sharing both in Aperture and Photos.

But that was an accidental glitch and not supposed to work.  Now, in El Capitan it is back to normal.  Only one of the photo libraries - Aperture, iPhoto, or Photos library - can be syncing with iCloud.  If you enable iCloud Photo Sharing in Aperture, it will automatically disable iCloud for your Photos Library and vice versa. So you can use iCloud alternately with Aperture or Photos.  But it is not feasible, if you want to use iCloud Photo Library in Photos as well. Every time you switch iCloud Photo Sharing on in Aperture, your iCloud Photos Library have to upload again to iCloud.

Larry - have you been thinking of iCloud Photo Library?  iCloud Photo Sharing is working well in Aperture.

Thank you, Léonie. Now I understand why my Aperture iCloud sharing option was recently grayed out and no longer available. Looks like going back and forth is not a great idea either.

I actively use both Aperture and Photos at the moment. I will leave iCloud photo sharing on in Photos and off in Aperture to avoid reloading the entire library.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to share photos from Aperture using another cloud option? I don't want to use Facebook, SmugMug or Flickr (the only other options provided), and email is not feasible.

Why not share from Photos to the shared albums?  Photos for Mac can see your current Aperture Library in the Media Browser.

Use "File > Import" and scroll down in the File Chooser until you are seeing "Photos" in the Media section of the sidebar.

Then wait for Aperture to appear and import the photos to Photos that you want to share to iCloud Photo Sharing.

Sounds like a good workaround. I will try that. Thank you!
