HDMI Splitter

I was using an HP and I had it connected to three different displays. I am using an hdmi splitter to connect the displays to the hp. I purchased a macbook pro to replace my hp and now one of the displays goes blank when my mac is connected. It goes back on when the hp is connected. The display that goes off is an apple tv. Is something wrong?

Hello nlbc123,
I understand that you are having an issues with the external display on your MacBook Pro. Let's see if we can get that sorted out.
The first thing that you want to look over is seeing if you can detect the display is it is turned off while connected. Open up System Preferences > Displays and in the lower right hand corner of the window. If you don't see it, hold the Option key to bring this up. If that does not work then you will want try connecting the display directly instead through a HDMI splitter.
Take a look at the articles below for more details on detecting the display as well as additional troubleshooting to get this working for you.
