Q: Can I charge my USB-C phone with my USB-C Macbook power supply?

I have a Nexus 6P and a Macbook (the new one with USB-C). I also have a 29W USB Type-C Power Adapter. I wanted to know if I can charge my Nexus 6P phone safely with my Macbook power adapter.
