Does backing my iphone's data to my pc consume any storage on the pc?

I Backed up all the data on my iphone to my computer? Does it consume any storage memory on my pc? I can't find where the backup is stored. If it does consume, how much of storage space does the backing up occupy?

P.S. I don't have internet connection for my pc. So don't suggest me to backup the data to icloud!
