I'm not talking about changing my pass code to letters. I'm asking how I can make the characters in a password, such as a network password, visible instead of dots as I'm entering it.

I knew the typed key showed for a half second or so. Is there a way to lengthen the time it shows, ideally until you type the next character?

When you tap your wifi password the tapped character shows for a few seconds before it turns into a dot. That always happens. There is no way to make the characters show permanently

But Apple will not allow an app to to that except for any password for that specific app. Apple does not allow one app to control/change another app
For your Wi-Fi password, you can type it up in notes and copy and paste it to the password field. -AJ
