Q: Remote App still not working with iTunes, any fixes?

Both iTunes and iOS are up to date. No manual way to pair my iTunes with my phone. Anyone got any advice on how to fix this issue?

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.2.1

I had mine set up with Home Sharing. Honestly haven't used it in a while.

Make sure it is set up correctly with these articles:

Set up Remote for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If the Remote app won’t connect to iTunes or your Apple TV - Apple Support

Could be caused by a firewall or router settings.

Yeah I've followed both those articles but still no success.
I'm annoyed that there is no manual pairing option, as both the first guide you linked and the app suggests there is.

Also have fiddled around with firewall settings and they are all in check, so I'm still lost!
    Thanks for the advice though!

Have you tried deleting and redownloading the Remote app?

Turn Home Sharing off and on again? Restart both devices?

Turn the iOS device off by pressing and holding the power and home button until it shuts off. That resets caches and network settings. Better than just turning the devices off.

I just downloaded the app to test it out and it works on my school's network (and it blocks everything)

A question I have, my PC's is connected to the internet through a network cable, as it doesn't have a wireless card, and obviously my phone is connected via WiFi.

Would this have any thing to do with the connectivity issues?

As long as both your iPhone and your computer are on the same network, it shouldn't matter that one is connected via Ethernet and one is wireless. Has this ever worked with these two devices (your iPhone and PC)?

The only time this could be an issue is if you have multiple routers set up, and your iPhone is connected to one while your computer is connected to another. Even though they may be set up as a "single" network, they are often times viewed as separate networks. The best example I can give is a school or business that has "one" network that encompasses the entire campus or building. You can access the network anywhere in the building, but it is made up of multiple routers/base stations.

How this could relate to you is if you are using an extended network, such as an Apple Airport Express.

I am on University internet, so I don't necessarily have access to the router, but to answer your question, no I haven't had it working before, this is the first time I've tried to get it working under my cousins recommendation!
    I appreciate the help!
