Q: Apple Watch Activity App Recording too much Exercise?
My Apple Watch is having problems with the activity app. When I first got the watch it took a lot of exercise and effort to fill the 30 minute exercise ring, to the point where I thought there was something wrong with it lol
Since the very first update last year it's completely the opposite now. It's recording far too much exercise. For example; today it says I have done 83 minutes of exercise and I haven't actually done any exercise. I have been active, but only in a walking around, shopping etc kind of way. But according to the watch I've done nearly an hour and a half worth of exercise.
Is there any way I can fix this? I calibrated it and did 2x10 minute walks with my phone in my hand etc... Location services and motion etc is turned on... I've done several bike rides with it also... I've just looked at the watch again, and I've done 3 minutes more exercise as I'm writing this lol Heart rate is normal etc. I just don't know what to do?

Hi
Check that you do not have a workout in progress, either via the built-in Workout app or a third-party app.
Check that your personal information is accurate:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Health > check and, if necessary, edit your birthdate, gender, height and weight.
It may also help to reset your calibration data and calibrate your watch again:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Privacy > Motion & Fitness > tap on Reset Calibration Data.
It may also help to restart both your iPhone and your watch. Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone:
- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;
- To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
