iPhoto upgrader doesn't recognize my library?

I am trying to open my iPhoto library with photos. I thought I upgraded it, but when I choose the "upgraded" iphoto library it says "LIBRARY VERSION TOO OLD, PLEASE USE THE UPGRADER... ECT..."

So I go into the upgrader and try and select the iPhoto library to upgrade it, but the app does not recognize the library, the icon is gray and I cannot choose it.

WHAT DO I DO? Is there any other way to view my pictures?
