Q: What is the point of buying more iCloud storage?

What is the point of buying more iCloud storage if I don't have a Mac? It doesn't seem like an additional storage space for my phone. Can I use it for more apps? Pictures? How do I use this space to extend my hardware's? I'm trying to not be limited to putting apps on my phone or taking pictures. Do I have the wrong idea?

    iCloud storage is not intended to provide extended space for your hardware. You cannot use it to place additional apps to use on the phone, those have to be installed on the phone to be used. It is a place for your backup and pictures, but depending on which picture storage method you use, some still reside on the phone.
