Q: running out of space

Running out of space in my computer. Showing almost 85 GB in others, but don't know where does it come from and where to delete it

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

    First understand what OTHER actually consists of:

     

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202867

     

    Then download from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them. They will show all of your files and the respective sizes. Transfer to an external HDD or delete files you no longer want on your MBP.

     

    Do not forget to empty trash. Only then is space allocated for new data.
