Q: How do I erase drive and prep to give away? Macbook , late 2008, running 10.5.8
Macbook 13 inch , purchased brand new late 2008. running OSX 10.5.8 Lepord
I have a macbook I am having a few issues with when I am prepping to give away.
The only success I have had to get any where past the gray screen, with Apple logo and spinning wheel, is to use Command-S.
Once in Single User Mode, from what I can tell from the coding, it looks like I last set it up to boot from Internet Recovery. The Macbook will not boot up entirely. I had it started up last week when I pulled anything I wanted off the hard drive with no issue.
recommendations on completely erasing the mac book to give to my sister?
Thanks!
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

• How to prepare your Mac for sale (or give away)
http://www.thesafemac.com/how-to-prepare-your-mac-for-sale/
"Eventually, the system will get to a point where the Setup Assistant will open, allowing you to set up the new system.
At this point, quit Setup Assistant and shut down the computer. This way, when the buyer turns on the computer for
the first time, it will act like a new machine, and will allow them to go through the setup process themselves..."
Be sure to include the original system install-restore DVD media discs
and all of the Apple included accessories, manuals, & etc it came with.
Should you still have the box and other information, that'd be nice, too.
Good luck & happy computing!
