When restoring iPhone I get error message 4005, I have checked this error on the Apple Website many months ago, but I forgot to include the error number in the post, sorry about that.
I don't know if its software related? I think its hardware related.

I understand that you might think that it is hardware after it not being restored successfully. I would make sure that you are up to date with iTunes, restart your device, try a different cable and computer if need be. If it still doesn't work then you will want to contact Apple Support for further assistance.
If you see error 9, 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your iOS device
