Q: For Apple Care  . Does your new phone come in as a refurbished or brand new iPhone. I recently cracked mine and wanted to find out

I Wanted to know if I went to an apple retail store I would get a refurbished or new iPhone? Also, can I get a new one if I have battery problems?

Apple Retail employees have no way of telling whether the replacement is new or refurbished. Having a battery issue has nothing to do with getting a new vs. refurbished replacement.

What type of battery problems do you have? It's possible you may have motherboard issues which may look like a battery issue.

If you do indeed have battery issues, they would be able to replace the battery. If it's a motherboard issue, then you could find yourself with a refurbished phone. It's highly unlikely it would be a new phone.

First, if your battery is failing they will replace the battery. But the likelihood of a failing battery in a 6S is close to zero, so if your battery is draining too fast most likely you have an app that is not working correctly, and you can fix the problem by finding the bad app. They will not replace a phone for a battery problem. If there is some other problem (also possible, but unlikely) they will replace the entire phone with either a new or refurbished. There is no way to tell the difference between them, and a refurbished is usually a better option because it has been individually tested, rather than the mass automated testing of new devices.
