Q: How to use NFS with USB disk on Airport Extreme?

I have attached an USB disk to my Airport Extreme to use it as NAS with my Hikvision IP Cam.

How can I setup the Airport disk for NFS?

AirPort Extreme 802.11n (4th Gen)

As far as I remember a disk that you want to connect to the Airport Extreme should be formatted as   Mac OS Extended (journaled)  not as NTFS.

Thanks for your kind input but what I am uncertain about is not the formatting of the disk but the file system used NFS in contrast to SMB/CIFS.

Why not connecting the disk to your computer? it is much faster than using the disk over WiFi.

For the connection to Airport the disk must be in the HFS+ format (Mac OS Extended (journaled) as I said above).

When connected to an AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule, the base station's file server supports both AFS & SMB for file transfers to the attached USB drive.

However, if by NFS, you are referring to Network File System, the AirPort base stations do not include either an NFS server or an NFS client.
