My iPhone 6 touchscreen is selectively unresponsive

I Have an iPhone 6 iOS 9.2 and for a couple days my phones touchscreen has been unresponsive and I can't turn it off because it won't slide. I've went to my carrier store and they told me to delete some things to make in storage so I did. And I have about 4 gb of storage open now but it is still unresponsive at times.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.2.1

Try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on this device.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

Alternatively, you may go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings

If this does not help, restore your device to factory settings. Note that this will erase the data from your device.

Take a look this Apple Support article: Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.

As a final step, try the recovery mode. Turn your device off, then plug it to your computer with the home button pressed. Keep the Home button pressed until you see the iTunes logo on the screen of your device. After that on your computer you should see the iTunes window saying your device needs to be restored to factory settings. Click on the restore button.

If these steps don't work, contact Apple and ask for help.

I had a similar problem that started almost immediately after updating my iPhone 6 plus to iOS 9.3.2. Touchscreen became intermittently unresponsive. Tried various resets, sometimes they worked immediately, sometimes the screen remained unresponsive for hours no matter what combination of buttons I pressed.

Thinking it was a software problem related to the 9.3.2 upgrade, I signed up to try the beta version of 9.3.3. After installing beta 9.3.3, the screen worked normally - I thought that was the end of the problem. I was wrong - the next morning the touchscreen was unresponsive once again.

Took the phone in to The Mac Store (not an Apple Store) and spoke with the technician. He suggested a "re-seat" of the touchscreen and connectors. Since my phone is no longer under warranty I figured I had nothing to lose. Technician removed the screen, disconnected and then re-snapped the 4 ribbon connectors (that attach the touchscreen to the back plate of the phone) into place (they are located under the top right corner of the touchscreen).

The repair took approx 7 minutes to complete. Technician charged nothing. Phone has worked perfectly since then (48 hours so far). Technician's theory is that the "plus" models are particularly sensitive to slight twisting/flexing of the frame due to the larger size. Eventually the slightest flexing can work a contact loose causing intermittent function of the touchscreen. Seems like a plausible explanation. The repair seems to have worked for my phone.

I have the same problem in my 6 plus, it is a hardware issue, my warranty expired a few months ago and apple won't help me (unless I pay more or less 400 USD), I feel this is the result of a defective design, the phone is too flexible and with regular usage, little by little, the inner components start to break, the repair is too expensive, I think I'm leaving apple.

I have the same problem (almost). I am using iPhone 6 in the newest iOS, When i'm Logged In into my icloud accoun, my touch screen is not sensitive. I need to wait for a few minutes before it will work again, or i need to locked and unlocked the screen then it will be sensitive again but just for a few seconds then back to the problem again... But when i am not using my iCloud account, everything went smooth... I even tried all the posible solutions posted on the net, Reset, Hard Reset, and even reset and use as new phone... Please help. Thanx a lot!
