There is no search function other than the search in your browser.  Prepare albums on your iPhone or your Mac to have the photos you want to find easily accessible.

    Thank you Leonie!

It's a bit disconcerting that a basic SEARCH function  is excluded.  It's a basic required function in the digital world.

Personally I blame Leonie -- but in this case you may want to provide feedback/suggestion to Apple via the following link as they are more likely to do something about it: http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html

Cute!, I hope Leonie knows I appreciate her answer and that I was more inclined to blame Johnny Ives and his minimalist acolytes...  Sometimes they just go too far;  their GUI is just plain hard to see lately.   It's kind of  de-rigeuer for designers and perhaps too pat an answer, but alas: Form really should follow function. ...just saying  ;-J

If I had been designing the Photos.app on www.icloud.com it would give access to all features in Photos for Mac - and probably be slow as molasses. But it would have had a search function and show my smart albums and all metadata of the photos!

You are so right. What is true for architecture is important for software architecture as well.

I just looked up Sullivan's original quote and it is true today as in 1896.

How fun to relook at the FFF maxim on wiki.  It' so ingrained I never thought to look it up.  The Vitruvius attribution by Sullivan is no surprise.  "Firmness Commodity and Delight."  Isn't the last word just absolutely wonderful?!

it's the "Happiness" to our own "Life & Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" maxim from Thomas Jefferson.

Thank you for the opportunity to have such fine musings at the end of the week!
