I use my 6+ as a hot spot to connect to my iPad Air 2 when away from home. I always turn on hot spot on the phone, and then wait maybe a minute before opening iPad cover. Occasionally the iPad is connected to the phone. More often I have to manually connect the iPad to the phone hot spot. Both devices are patched to the latest iOS update. Is there an explanation as to why the iPad occasionally connects automatically to the phone, but mostly doesn't?
