I just bought an iPhone 6S Plus and have a few TextEdit/RTF files in iCloud. I opened one on the phone butI can't figure out how to search it for a specific word or group of words. Is there a way to do this?

Cloud Drive doesn't seem to offer any way to search within a file. You're going to need to find an app that will let you do that and open the file in that app.
YUP, I have it. I'm just trying to figure out how to open it in Pages. I'll learn this thing sooner or later. 😉
I'm not sure. Whichever is the default app on an iPhone to open RTF files. I'm not trying to be a wiseguy, I just don't see any indication as to which app is being used.
What app are you opening the files with?
Without knowing what app it is, it's going to be hard to give directions, so let's try to figure that out. Double tap the Home button. The name of the app your using should be above its window.
