Q: Second 3rd Generation Apple TV Stopped Working 1 Month Later, Just Like First One

My 3rd generation Apple TV will not connect to my Wi-Fi Network. This is the 2nd time I've had this issue. The first time I ended up calling Apple to trouble shoot, and they ended up sending me a replacement, which is the one I have now. But it's doing the same thing as the first one I had! I've restarted AND reset my Apple TV, tried to reconnect the Wi-Fi several times, restarted my router & modem, et cetera. This is a pain. I don't want to be replacing my Apple TV every month...

When you got the second unit, I assume it connected without issue?

I would do a complete software restore of the ATV.

Restore your Apple TV through iTunes - Apple Support

Please carefully read and note the get help section and the need to use the proper USB cable.

It did connect without issue when I received it, yes.

I have done a complete restore of the ATV.

I ended up calling Apple and they did an entirely different troubleshooting routine from the first, precisely because I was having the same issue with this replacement. They can't be sure of what's wrong beyond the ATV being too far from the main router.

I previously bought an AirPort Extreme and forgot I had it. I'll be placing that right next to my ATV and connecting the two together to see if the ATV will work then...
