Possible to Insert Shapes'n'such into Table Cells?

using Pages 5.6.1 on Mac OS 10.11.3 (El Capitan).

i made a table and cannot figure out a way to put anything but text in a table cell. so no Shapes, Text Boxes, etc, of that sort.

is it possible? if so, how?

thanks.

hey Thanks @VikingOSX,

but that's not working for me, precisely.

i'll try to be more descriptive in what i'm trying to do here...

i've attached a screenshot of this. i've got a table (like a weekly calendar) & i need to put these 3 squares in each cell (Yes, No, & Goal).

i couldn't create this within a cell, so i created it outside of the table. they're just 3 square shapes with the Y, N, & G letters inside of them. i lined them up then GROUPED them together.

i then thought i would be able to insert, drag/drop, or copy/paste the group into each cell... but nope.

so what i'm left with is manually lining up a bunch of them over each cell as a standalone object that is not constrained to anything.

the downside is this leaves no room for expansion or growth of the table... easily. & it can become a real mess if i have to let other hands edit it at some point.

but, unless i/we/you figure out a way to put this grouping "into/in to" a cell, then i'll have no other choice but to do it the external object way.

THANKS AGAIN!!!

THANKS @PeterBreis0807!

i did as you suggested, and it seemed to work fine... at first.

BTW: i didn't know you could select all the Cells and do a single import and have it insert the selected image/pdf in to each of the cells. what a time saver!

but, my table has alternating bg shades for rows and it became obvious that the inserted pdf export created a white background on the pdf.

i tried everything to get Pages to export the shapes'n'text with a transparent background, but nooooo, it just refused!

so i ended up having to bring it in to Adobe Illustrator - which, after cleaning out all the background layers, i was able to export from there a transparent pdf. and THAT worked - tho it was a pain-in-the-*** to do for what should be a simple/quick task (IMHO).

all that to say, thanks for getting me on the right track.
