How do you record screen at high quality (1080) using quicktime player?

My quicktime player does not have an option of choosing quality 😟.

After you are done recording your screen, click File > Export

It then gives you resolution options. The screen on your computer is better than 1080p so it is always recorded in HD, but it has to be "dumbed down" for sites like YouTube.

Also it would be helpful to know which model of MacBook Pro and operating system you are using so we know which version of Quicktime Player you are using. My assumption is El Capitan or Yosemite.
