Q: How to bind sendmail to a single IP address
I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row WRT e-mail services.
Right now I have 2 IP addresses configured on my server and 2 IP addresses assigned to my router. The problem is that mail is egressing my server on the wrong IP address so I was wondering if there is a way to bind sendmail to send and receive on a specific address.
Glad to offer more info where needed, but here's the nutshell version
forward and reverse lookups report correctly
Publicly:
server.bhpolicesupply.com <> 50.30.61.220
mail.bhpolicesupply.com <> 50.30.61.219
mail.bhpolicesupply.com is my MX per DNS
Privately
server.bhpolicesupply.com <> 192.168.2.100
mail.bhpolicesupply.com <> 192.168.2.98
Router says One to one NAT
192.168.2.98~98 => 50.30.61.219
When I send mail the headers show
Received: from server.bhpolicesupply.com (server.bhpolicesupply.com [50.30.61.220])
When I reply to the mail it still ignores mail. and uses server.
Received: from server.bhpolicesupply.com ([127.0.0.1])
Any help appreciated.
