AirPrint Issues
Hi all,
I have a Canon Pixma MG5350 printer on my wireless network at home. It's a very reliable machine and was working flawlessly until recently. I could print to it using AirPrint from my iMac, my iPhone 6s and my iPad Air 2. All are fully up to date and the printer has the latest firmware.
Last week I had a new wireless router installed (part of Sky Q) and now the AirPrint side of things no longer works. My iMac can 'see' the printer, but when I print to it, nothing happens. I have deleted and re-added it under System Preferences (El Capitan), but when I select it and try and configure it using "Bonjour Multifunction" I get the error "Unable to communicate with the printer at this time". If I configure it with the 'Canon IJ Network" option, it works fine (from the iMac only).
If I try and print from my iOS devices, they can also see the printer but when I send a print job, they give the error "Printer is offline".
It seems obvious to me that the router is the issue, but I have contacted other Sky Q customers who are having no problems with AirPrint.
On my network, AirPlay is working fine, as is wireless syncing between my iOS devices and my iMac.
Can anyone offer any advice on how I would definitively test whether the router is the issue, before I buy a new printer?
I'm a reasonably experienced computer user and I've taken all the usual troubleshooting steps like rebooting everything and resetting the printer settings.
Any help gratefully received. Thanks.
