I've changed my email address on my Apple ID and now can't sign in on my phone to updates apps

basically ive changed my default email address but when I go into settings and onto my iCloud settings it says I need to sign in but the email address that automatically gets brought up is the old one. I can't sign out of that account because it no longer exists but have no way of signing back in on the new email address. Can anyone help?!
