not a valid win32 application when downloading itunes?

When downloading itunes on my PC it has come up with an error message saying "not a valid win32 application", what does this mean? Can I still download itunes? Please help

I see you're receiving an error message when downloading and installing iTunes on Windows Vista. You may need to download the installation file again. Try to download the latest version of iTunes found at iTunes 12.1.3 for Windows XP and Windows Vista 32-bit. Make sure to follow these download steps:

After you click the link, click Download to download the iTunes installer. When prompted, click Save (instead of Run). iTunes 12.1.3 is the latest version of iTunes supported for Windows XP and Vista.

These steps come from If you can't install or update iTunes for Windows, which has more troubleshooting advice if the information above don't solve it.
