TThey used to make these for the old iPods, you could charge the iPod from a wall plug, but plug the other cable into a computer for sync, etc.
Do these exist anymore? I'd like to have a similar setup, a split lightning cable with two USB plugs, one for power and another for the data/sync connection.

The iPhone will charge through the cable when it's connected to the computer to sync. There's no need for a second charing cable.

Yes. I understand that. The point is I am in need of a cable of the type I am asking about. A stock cable will not work for my particular application.
Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm looking for the same thing. My car has a USB port to plug in my iPhone for pandora streaming and to play other music. The problem is that port only offers about 0.5A of charge current and seems to be screwing up my iPhone 6s's battery life by continuously providing it with a trickle of charge.
I want to split the lightning port cable so that one usb plugs into my 12v usb charger (when a charge is needed) and the other sends the music signal to the car's usb plug for music connection.
(Btw, I want to use the car's usb plug for music since it's the only way to integrate pandora in the car with iPhone [android uses Bluetooth, but not iphone]. Also, the sound quality is far superior using usb]

While that might mean your phone wouldn't stay charged, it won't hurt the battery either.
Thanks. I forgot to mention one thing though. When my phone is under high demand use (I drive for Uber), the USB from the car doesn't provide enough juice to offset the above average battery drain.
That's another reason I'd like to split the cable.
You'd need to plug it into something. So, you'd need an inverter for the power port. You could certainly try.
I don't use the USB connection in my car. I stick the phone in a mount on the dash, connect it to the Aux port and the power port and everything just works for me.

I recognize most people would just use an aux, but using the USB port provides superb sound, shows what is playing on the screen, and gives pandora control (changing stations and such) through the car's radio controls.

Perhaps if you explained your what your particular application is, someone could give you some additional suggestions.

What about a powered USB hub? Wouldn't that increase the charge provided to the iPhone but also allow downstream data?
