My Airport Extreme with Time Capsule no longer appears in utility

I have 2 MBP, 3 different generations of iPads, and 2 iPhone 6 plus and none of them can see the base station. All connect to internet fine, and it is definately connecting through the airport, but the base station is missing and the backups have all stopped.

I have reset everything and no change.

Any ideas?

I have the same issue. We have forgotten/lost the password for the extreme. We have an extreme divided into two partitions, one secure and one for guests. Which most likely is the reason this was just noticed. I found instructions to reset the password and went to the MacBook to reset, only to discover that my Airport Utility app looks exactly like the screen cap above. I attempted a reset of the extreme and when that didn't help, followed the instructions given by Bob Timmons. The extreme still doesn't show up on the MacBook, however it does show up on another IMac in the house but accessing on that computer requires the password. Any ideas ? Thank you.

I have reset everything and no change.

Not sure exactly what "reset" might mean here, since there different kinds of resets for the AirPort Time Capsule.

Try powering off the entire network......all devices, computers, mobile devices, printers, etc.....in any order that you want

Wait a minute

Power up the modem and let it run a full minute

Then, power up the next device connected to the modem and let it run a full minute

Keep powering up devices one at a time about a minute apart until the entire network is back up

Check the network and report on your results

If the AirPort Time Capsule is still missing in action when you open AirPort Utility, we need to know what operating system you are using on the Mac that you normally use to administer the Time Capsule. If you are not sure about that, click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click on About This Mac and post back with the OS X Version that you see there.

Sorry - I should know better :-)

I am having a problem with this device: AirPort Time Capsule 802.11ac

MBP are running El Captain, 10.11.3. iPhone is running 9.2.1.

Reset meant power cycle (unplug, wait, re-plug). I have not reset it using the recessed button by the power cord. I have done this to the AirPort Extreme with the Time Capsule a few times, I have rebooted the Cable Modem, I have rebooted the iPhone, the iPad, and the MBP. I think it has to be something on the something on the Airport /Time Capsule since it is missing on all the other devices.

Please power off any many devices as possible, but leave the Mac that you normally use to administer the Time Capsule and the Time Capsule itself powered on.

On the Mac.....

Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)

Open Network

Click on WiFi on the left panel to highlight it

Click Advanced at the lower right of the window

Click the TCP/IP tab

Make sure that the setting for Configure IPv6 is set to Link Local Only

Click OK

Click Apply in the next window that appears

Now you should be back in the Network window again.....

Click on Ethernet to highlight it and then perform the same steps as above

Be sure to click OK and Apply

Restart the Mac

Open AirPort Utility to see if the AirPort router will now appear

If it does, then perform the same steps for WiFi and Ethernet on your other Mac

Then, unless your ISP has implemented IPv6 service and provided you with specific instructions to configure IPv6 on the AirPort router, you should change the setting for IPv6 to Link Local Only the AirPort router as well. Post back if you need more info.
