Can I rotate text boxes in Keynote?

It seems like this should be a no-brainer, but I can't figure out how to rotate a text box in Keynote. (I'd like a Title rotated 90° CCW). The user guide mentions rotating objects using selection handles and the CMD key, but this doesn't seem to work with text.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Welcome to the forums, lefttraffic.

If you click on the text box once to select it, and then put the cursor over the square boxes at the left or right edge of the text box, the cursor should change to double-ended arrows. Does this happen? If so, then when you hold down the command key, the double-ended arrows should be curved, and you could then hold down the mouse button and drag to rotate.

Alternatively, you can select the text box and then use the Metrics Inspector palette to rotate the object.

Hi Tulse,

Thanks for the welcome and quick response! I'm a 20+ year Mac guy and a forum lurker forever, but this is the first time I haven't found an answer to my question with a quick search. Hence my first post.

I now see that rotation works perfectly as advertised on text boxes, which of course is what I asked about... But now I realize that what I was really intending to ask about, and what still eludes me, is how to rotate a Title (or Sub-Title) box. Can this be done?

Title and Subtitle boxes seem to be special -- as far as I can determine, they are not rotatable.
