I save some videos from Final Cut Pro X into iTunes as home videos. Along with the iTunes movies purchased, can home videos be available or accessible to watch on Apple TV? I have 3rd and 4th generation ATVs? If so, how?
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
I do have Home Sharing on. I can see and access everything but the Home Videos.
Check option > media kind in 'get Info' in iTunes, Home video has it's own option and it's category on the Apple TV.
How did you export from FCP X
You are correct in that it has it's own option; however, Apple TV does not recognize it as a Home Video or Movie if I change it in the "Get Info" option. The export from FCP X happens in the option menu as 'Share iTunes' and saves it to H.264 video codec, m4v, MPEG-4 video file. I do not know how to get them to be recognized on Apple TV
What is the media kind set as and where do they show up in iTunes.
defaults to home video when saving from FCPX. I've changed to movie to see if it shows up on ATV and none show up as Movies or Home Videos.
You are looking in the computers app and not the movies app, are you.
The only thing I see in Computers app is "Turn on Home Sharing in iTunes." There is nothing else to the app on ATV. When I go to computer and look, home sharing is on with 'share entire library' selected. Still no home videos
Then there is something wrong with home sharing.
