Q: Upgraded to El Capitan - cannot access the administrator account

Yesterday I upgraded to OS X El Capitan. When I turned my macbook pro (2013) on this morning I typed the password, and it continued to a loading bar. At first it was loading, but then it just went back to the stage where you have to type in the password (I think it turned itself off before going back to this stage). Atm I cannot acces the administrator account. Can someone please help me?

that advice might be helpful for a Unix jock, but no "regular" users should ever need to enable root, and once root is enabled, you did not provide any instructions about how to fix the problem.
