Q: iPad doesn't use Headphone stereo feature

On a ride home my iPad mini 4 was almost dead so I decided to use my iphone 5s. I connected my bluetooth headphones and when I went into my game the sound quality was noticably better. my phone was using the stereo feature. So when I got home I tested a few things. My phone had better sound quality and I could answer factime calls just by pressing a button on my headphones as well as end them. But then on my ipad mini 4 I can't answer calls or end themand the stereo feature dosn't work. At least I can hear out of them.

SO to summarize is there anyway to use all of my headphone features on iPad?

Because i use my ipad for mostly everything.

please help.
