You can find them the same place you get all iOS software - the Apple iOS App Store. Just search for keyword PowerPoint. Both MS PowerPoint and Apple Keynote, the iOS equivalents of those full desktop applications, are available, plus numerous others, some of which are purely ppt and pptx file viewers.
aJ and Michael, thank you both for the information. I wanted to know this as I am ready to buy a new iPad Air 2 and I wanted to
make cetrain that I could do this. One more question, do the pictures automatically progress through the slides automatically and
is there sound just like on a regular computer?
Acording to the following link, sounds are partially supported. The media type needs to be supported by iOS. http://www.apple.com/ios/keynote/compatibility/
Most of the transitions and animations are supported in the slideshow view, such as the appear on tap. I am not sure if that was what you were referring too.
If you go to the Apple Store, they may have an iPad with keynote on it that you can check out. -AJ
Thanks AJ. I am now leaning toward purchasing an IPad Pro instead, which I am certain will play PowerPoint files.
You are welcome. Both iPads are capable of viewing PPT files.
AJ, would the app on the iPad air 2 produce quality sound, as well as the slide show of pictures, as good as the iPad pro? I would just like to view, and not create. Thank you.
My iPad Air 2 produces great sound in my opinion. I have not tried an iPad Pro yet, so I have no basis for comparison. However, the screen size would be an advantage. I would recommend testing them out in person at a store. -AJ
Thanks A.j I appreciate the information. I will check it out.
You are welcome. Have a great day.
Just wanted to point out that if you are buying a brand new iPad, it will include free licenses for Apple's own Keynote, Pages and Numbers apps.
MS Office apps are also free, but of limited use without a paid Office 365 subscription.
Thanks Michael, I will keep this in mind. I will be purchasing a new iPad, either the iPad Air 2, or the ipad pro.
