createinstallmedia doesnt install .IAProductInfo ... why?

I tried to create a USB Install device using the instructions found here

Create a bootable installer for OS X - Apple Support

Basically run the "createinstallmedia" command with the right options.

When I boot using that USB device it seems to run... but then it stops and boots using the Internet recovery mode (there is no recovery partition on my Mac).

I had a USB Flash device that I made earlier in the year and the only difference was the file ".IAProductInfo"

When I copied that file onto the new USB Flash everything worked.

Why?

How do I get it working correctly?

Unfortunately that is not correct.

When I read the other forum I tried that program as well.

Essentially all that program does is run the createinstallmedia with scripts.

I have been trading email with the author of that program.

I am unable to make my disk boot until I add the ".IAProductInfo" file.

He suggested that my copy of the /Applications/... folder was bad. So I deleted it and downloaded it again. No dice.
