Mar 21, 2016 1:15 AM in response to lllaassby duncanmug,Thanks, this is exactly the method I used as per your link. However when I click on the photo library on my new macbook it says repairing files. When it gets to 95% it says the file cannot be repaired. I am wondering if it could be anything to do with one running El Capitan and one running Yosemite? The original photo library was on a macbook pro running El Capitan and the new Macbook runs Yosemite.

Mar 21, 2016 2:38 AM in response to duncanmugby dialabrain,Just to clarify, you keep saying "repaired", do you mean restored?
How much free space is on the MacBook and how large is the Photo or iPhoto library you are trying to copy over from the Time Machine backup?

Mar 21, 2016 3:04 AM in response to duncanmugby dialabrain,Strange. Anyway, have you tried just copying the iPhoto/Photo Library over to the desktop of the MacBook by Drag n Drop or selecting the library folder, right click on it and select copy, then right click on the MacBook desktop and choose Paste Item?

Mar 21, 2016 8:23 AM in response to dialabrainby duncanmug,i did the drag and drop onto the desktop, clicked on it, it opens up photos says its repairing the files due to inconsistencies then at 95% just stops and says cannot repair. It's really strange.

Mar 21, 2016 9:27 AM in response to duncanmugby dialabrain,Assuming you have the iPhoto or Photo Library copied to your MacBook on the Desktop, this is what I would do…
1. Right click on the library file and choose "Show Contents"
2. You should see a folder called "Masters". Drag that to the Desktop.
3. Start Photos and choose "Import…" from the File menu, and choose the Masters folder.
That should import all the Photos.
Let me know.
