Q: What happened to my OSX Installer downloads?

What the **** happened to my OSX Installer downloads?  They now can not be verified if I try to install Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite.  First of all they took over two days each to download.  I PAID MONEY for Mountain Lion.  I downloaded Mavericks.  I downloaded Yosemite.  I downloaded ElCapitan.  A few weeks ago I installed Mountain Lion (twice) on an external USB drive (for testing - in fact, I'm using that install right now) and I just tried to install it on another Mac mini running Snow Leopard and the installer now can't be verified.  It worked twice before on the Mac mini I'm typing this on.  The Mavericks installer can't be verified.  The Yosemite installer can't be verified.  I haven't tried El Capitan because I am reading about numerous problems that will also affect me.

Why does it take TWO DAYS to download the installers?

Why are they now not able to be verified? Do they spoil after a certain length of time?

Why can't APPLE offer these on DVDs that don't go bad like the downloads apparently have?

I have said for a few years that Snow Leopard was the high point of APPLE OSX and my experiences today with the downloaded installers just further proves my point.
