Q: why is does hard drive show photos, films and music even after I have deleted everything

Hi

I have recently deleted all my photos, movies and music off my Mac to save on hard drive space.

However despite deleting everything my hard drive is showing:

3.2Gb Movies

1.3Gb Audio

4.3Gb Photos

I have searched for these files and the results come back with nothing but my hard drive is still showing as this space is being taken up.

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

Going by overall disk space used. Does what you get in about this mac agree with what you see in disk utilities at the bottom when you click on the indented drive? It is possible that since you deleted the files, spotlight has not done an index. Photos has it's own empty trash.
